623 DRIVER’S EDUCATION
A. Classroom instruction has a $50.00 fee
B. A $20.00 deposit is required, payable to Nevis School, prior to scheduling driving time. The total fee for behind the wheel instruction is $240.00 which must be paid in full prior to receiving the white card.
C. If a student must make-up a session of behind the wheel instruction, there will be a charge of $25.00.
A. Eligibility for enrollment in the driving course is determined by academic progress.
B. Must be in at least 9th grade.
C. Students must be at least fifteen years old to be eligible for driver’s education. Fourteen year olds or those in 9th grade will be allowed to take the class if there is room.
D. Students must be making satisfactory progress toward graduation, academically and have good attendance. Students not making progress toward graduation (failing), or who are experiencing chronic discipline and/or attendance problems will be ineligible to enroll in the driving course. The determination of eligibility or ineligibility will be the responsibility of the principal and the driver’s education instructor.
E. Nevis Public School students will be eligible for classroom and behind the wheel instruction. If additional room is available, resident home school students will have first option, resident students attending other districts will have second option, and non-resident students will have third option.
